For the past 12 months, every piece of news about the motoring industry has been about how it’s been so badly effected by the recession. Every week there is a new story of how the motoring industry is suffering because people simply aren’t choosing to buy a new Alfa Romeo. However, despite rarely hearing about them, there are a few sectors of the motoring industry that have not been affected by the recession.

The second hand car market is one of the few parts of the motoring industry that has grown because of the recession. Prices of used cars are currently on the rise, that’s right, they are going against the flow of the recession. Although this may not sound very good intially as you will have to pay more for used cars for sale, however, if you are trading in, you will get more money for your old car.

The reason why this part of the industry has become popular is that people are trying to save as much cash as they can. In an attempt to do this, they opt for buying a second hand car rather than a brand new one. One recent thing that definately hasn’t helped the position of the new car market is that due to the recession, new car prices have actually gone up. You’d think that car manufacturers wouldn’t dare rising prices, however, because the exchange rates are poor, they are forced to raise some of their prices.

As a result of more people opting for used cars, the demand for these second hand cars has seen a dramatic rise. As the demand for used cars rise, plus as more cars are being scrapped under the scrappage scheme, it’s getting difficult to find your ideal second hand car. Now as used car dealers begin to run low on supplies, they are increasing prices for trading in a car, making it sound like a better deal for car owners.

The only downside is that despite they are getting more for their old cars, they are having to pay more when it comes to buying a diffrent second hand car. So to be honest, you are not making any extra money for your old car, but most people would rather buy a used car rather than buy an Audi straight off the production line at the factory.

The only people that lose out are the people that don’t trade in an old car.

The fastest land speed record has been broken by a man named Charles Burnett III in a steam powered car. The long record had previously been held by a man named Fred Marriott and it was originally set in 1906 and his record has not only been beaten it has been absolutely shattered. The car recorded an average speed of 139.843mph on two runs over just a measured mile. Over 100 years ago the world speed record was last broken and that was recorded at only 127mph. However it is a shame that the new speed record fell ever so slightly short of the unofficial 145.607mph set by the infamous car, Steamin’ Demon in 1985. Aswell as the speed record in 1906 the British team are keen to smash the original one which was made in 1906. As the car has just one gear it has a very slow acceleration speed and needs a 2.5 mile run up either end of the gigantic test strip located near Florida. Used cars for sale in the local area have been thrown in at various stages of the project to contribute to the cars performance.

The engineering is very technical and some of the brightest minds in the world have worked together to try and get this motor working to its full potential. Collectively this is good news for the car industry. Over a hundred car manufactures have contributed to the worlds fastest car and the demand to buy a new BMW has risen slightly in the local area. Except from the fact that people have been urged to buy an audi for example the interest in the car industry has been given a new spark.

The world record for land speed has not been broken in over 100 years and there is an incredible amount of interest into car manufacturing being sparked from this event. Breaking the land speed record has really emphasised our advances in technology over the last twenty years and I believe it is only a matter of time before we see this land speed record broken again.

As we advance in technology so does the car sector, there are literally so many new vehicles that hit the market every single day, but none of them really do anything innovative in their launch. There is one thing that I have always truly wondered, I mean why do the car manufacturers not implement CCTV in the vehicles they make.

We all know that the technology is availiable to place tiny cameras in place that thieves cannot spot. These cameras can then be uploaded onto a computer storage disk which will act as a storing point which can then be played back if there was a automobile theft.

Theft of used cars are emphatically on the rise, even a news story that was broadcast only of late has declared that police officers are the worst perpetrator for taking things from unsecured cars. But its just not how you would think, police officers were actually doing this because people leave their cars unlocked. So it is just showing them in plain action just how easy it can be to take.

Only the other day a close contact of mine got their car stolen and burnt out by some so called joy riders. Now this was quite an expensive vehicle and the people that did it got away with it all. Can you now imagine if this car was instead fitted with a digital surveillance device that saw these so called joyriders. The camera would basically work like a black box that you can find in an aeroplanes cockpit and record everything that has been happening in the vehicle for the last 24-48 hours. Although people may think that it is interfering with their privacy, it will save the economy a huge amount of money.

Do you want to Buy an Audi or Buy a Toyota

Opting for Private Used Cars

Thousands if not millions of people every single year purchase used cars for sale, one of the main reasons that people buy new cars is simply due down to the fact that they hold their value a lot more then new ones. I mean as soon as you buy a new automobile it straight off drops thousands of pounds. But there are a few used cars that would do this.

But in person I think that buying a secondhand automobile privately is by all odds the better choice to take, so let us take a look at a few of the reasons why.

Price

Probably the most important aspect is the price, if you see a car selling privately for one thousand pounds and then you go and find the same car at a garage, they would have probably added an extra one thousand onto the price.

Reason

A vast amount of people that sell their private vehicles do have a genuine reason to do so. The same thing cannot be said for car garages, they just sell cars to earn money from it so they dont care about the customer.

No Funny Deals

Garages have a immense inclination to try and push a vehicle on to you, even more they try to lock you into finance agreements, which although may sound really hopeful, will always see you paying much more then the automobile is worth. Once more the same cannot be said for private owners they have a frozen cost and they will not increase it above that.

There are so many more beneficial reasons as to why you should choose the private option. In the end most private sellers are actual and truthful and what you see is what you get. As long as you acknowledge what to check for on a site you should be secure from picking up a dodgy automobile.

Do you want to Buy a new BMW or Buy a Renault
