New Steam Car break world speed record

The fastest land speed record has been broken by a man named Charles Burnett III in a steam powered car. The long record had previously been held by a man named Fred Marriott and it was originally set in 1906 and his record has not only been beaten it has been absolutely shattered. The car recorded an average speed of 139.843mph on two runs over just a measured mile. Over 100 years ago the world speed record was last broken and that was recorded at only 127mph. However it is a shame that the new speed record fell ever so slightly short of the unofficial 145.607mph set by the infamous car, Steamin’ Demon in 1985. Aswell as the speed record in 1906 the British team are keen to smash the original one which was made in 1906. As the car has just one gear it has a very slow acceleration speed and needs a 2.5 mile run up either end of the gigantic test strip located near Florida. Used cars for sale in the local area have been thrown in at various stages of the project to contribute to the cars performance.

The engineering is very technical and some of the brightest minds in the world have worked together to try and get this motor working to its full potential. Collectively this is good news for the car industry. Over a hundred car manufactures have contributed to the worlds fastest car and the demand to buy a new BMW has risen slightly in the local area. Except from the fact that people have been urged to buy an audi for example the interest in the car industry has been given a new spark.

The world record for land speed has not been broken in over 100 years and there is an incredible amount of interest into car manufacturing being sparked from this event. Breaking the land speed record has really emphasised our advances in technology over the last twenty years and I believe it is only a matter of time before we see this land speed record broken again.
