Many people are outraged at the moment as it would seem that many crashes that we see on the roads are there because of things like television screens and tom toms getting in the way of people’s ability to actually concentrate on the road. Are these claims true or are people simply putting blame on things like this to attempt to claim on things like gap insurance?
A lot of people are up for the idea of banning things like televisions in cars but if you are travelling on long journeys with children in the back what is really the best way to keep them quiet, televisions!. The kids get to choose the DVD that they get to watch and you can bet that providing they take it in turns to watch what they want there will not actually be any arguments at all.
Most of the time, and I say most of the time, it would seem that the screens are in the back of the car which means if your children are old enough you can give them a pair of headphones to put on and listen to it that way. This means that you will not actually be distracted by the sounds the television is making at the back.
When it comes to televisions in the front of the car I most certainly believe that these should be banned because at some point during a long trip the driver is actually bound to glance up at the television. This is the very sad thing is that all it takes is a quick look up to lose concentration on the road and have a crash.
